Challenge

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), a global port management company headquartered in Manila, Philippines, has 33 terminals in 19 countries across six continents. To run its operations, ICTSI relied on myriad websites built on different front end, back end and hosting tech stacks, which led to inefficient processes and high operational costs. When the company needed to reduce overheads, streamline workflows, facilitate communication between web teams, and improve the global employee experience, it asked Srijan, a Material company, to help consolidate its terminal websites onto a single, scalable digital platform.

Implemented a Drupal multisite architecture solution on AWS Cloud to consolidate dozens of terminal sites onto one cost-effective platform
Enabled centralized editorial control for low or no-code multilingual content creation 
Revamped company-wide content strategy
Integrated the Philippines Stock Exchange (PSE) real-time ticker through a plugin on the global site

Outcomes

ICTSI’s 30+ websites are now consolidated into a single, scalable digital platform, enabling centralized editorial control and streamlined workflows, as well as more efficient content creation and onboarding of multilingual websites. The new platform not only improved the employee and customer experience across the ICTSI ecosystem, but it also dramatically reduced the costs of hosting and maintaining websites company–wide. Most importantly, ICTSI is empowered to reach customers faster, providing the right information at the right time.
